ELD students are invited to participate in our afternoon conversation class at the main campus, 1333 Grand Ave. The class runs from around 1-3 p.m. every day and is a great opportunity to improve on your practical English usage. We know that studying grammar, vocabulary, and reading is wonderful, but we also know how important it is to be able to apply that knowledge to the real speaking world. So come practice with us! You must be enrolled in a four hour ELD course in order to take this extra-curricular class.
Last week the Conversation Class took a field trip to the State Indian Museum and Sutter’s Fort to apply their speaking practice in downtown Sacramento. The students learned a lot about the history of Sacramento and how it came to be, and were also able to practice their English with native speakers through the guidance of their instructor Ali Diaz. Ali says she hopes to take the class on more field trips where they can apply their practical knowledge of the English language in the real world.
