The children of Playcare at Grand Avenue put on a show for everyone last week with their annual Fall Parade. They sang, they danced, and they collected candy and toys from family members at Highlands.
These family members included staff, students, and parents of the children performing. Onlookers could see the pride in each parent’s eyes as they watched their children’s performance unfold. These parents work very hard at Highlands everyday – either learning English as a second language or studying to complete their high school diploma – so seeing the progress and development their children are receiving at the same time in Playcare always puts smiles across their faces.
In particular, our Playcare Instructors Miss Julie and Miss Celene are to thank for the Fall Parade. They spent countless hours last month putting together costumes, backdrops, and games for the children to enjoy on this special day.
