Ernie Daniels was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to California in 1970. He served for four years in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He received his B.A. in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento. Daniels also attended the University of Southern California Delinquency Control Institute and The FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Daniels served 27 years with the Sacramento Police Department, retiring with the rank of Captain. While serving at SPD, he directed the Family and Youth Services Division and the Neighborhood Policing Program.
Daniels has served on several boards including the Sacramento Police Officers Association, the North Sacramento Rotary, Jesuit High School’s Board of Trustees, and the 20th District Agricultural Association’s Board of Directors.
